Biography

Javier Thibault Aranda is Professor of Labor Law and Social Security at the Complutense University of Madrid and Phd.

As a Consultant of Abdón Pedrajas, he carries out a transversal activity, participating in the advice of national and multinational companies in all types of issues related to Labor Law. He emphasizes, especially, his remarkable experience in collective matters, in terms of such as collective dismissals, collective agreements or collective bargaining. Also, actively participates in all training activities and publications promoted from the Firm.

He is the author or co-author of 5 monographs. He has directed or coordinated 3 collective works. He has participated in more than 30 collective books and is the author of numerous articles in specialized journals and jurisprudential analysis. He has also been director of an R & D research project related to collective bargaining in Spain and has participated in numerous research projects, in various legal advice contracts and in international cooperation projects in social and labor matters. In the published work and in the research projects, its main lines of analysis have focused on technological change and labor relations, collective bargaining and remuneration systems.

He has been a lawyer of the Constitutional Court on a temporary assignment basis and held different responsibilities in the General State Administration. First as Director of Programs of the National Consultative Commission of Collective Agreements and later like General Director of Employment of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, at the time that employer in diverse state public foundations. During that time, in addition to the functions of the position, he participates actively in the preparation of regulatory projects of the Government of Spain and in the determination and execution of the action of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
